Sigh of relief

  • The third and final debate is over. Actually the four debates have been a big hit at my house. For all the debates Mom and her friend came over, we had a nice dinner, watched, and then discussed them as a group. We need to find something more constructive for a family get together than political debates. Saturday is the first day of early voting and we're planning on voting then. Get it out of the way and zap through all the garbage commercials.
  • Richard Reeves editorial summed up Bushco about as succinctly as anyone I've read:
Bush, fairly or unfairly, took control of what they were calling the world's only superpower, the United States was the military, economic and moral leader of a globalizing world. Seven years later, the country is involved in two losing wars, a deregulated and debt-ridden economy could destroy the life-work of tens of millions of citizens, and the United States is seen as an immoral monster claiming the right to invade anywhere and torture anyone.
  • I can't wait for this election to be over, and then count down the days when hopefully sanity returns to this nation.
