In the local news around here, we are under a new mayor. Under the old mayor he had a CFO that actually did the grunt work of running the city. The old mayor placed the guy in a different job, but at the same high salary right before he left office. The new mayor comes in and wants to cut the man's pay back only to find that the old mayor signed a contract with the man that he gets to keep his high salary regardless. A political version of a golden parachute I guess. Anyway the guys face was on the news and on the front page of the Saturday newspaper.
Wife and I go out for breakfast and while we're reading the paper by the nice warm fire, guess who comes in and sits down right next to us (with wife), but Mr. Bigsalary.
Isn't the world of politics wonderful?
